Hibernate option is not visible by default on Windows 8, if we want this feature we need to manually enable it. Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops or notebooks. While sleep puts your work and settings in memory and draws a small amount of power, hibernation puts your open documents and programs on your HDD, and then turns off your computer.
Here’s how to enable hibernate option in Windows 8:
-
Left click on battery icon, then click More power options
-
click Choose what closing the lid does
-
Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable
-
Check Hibernate, Now you will be able to hibernate your Windows 8
